Start your Career in Auto Technology – NEW Hybrid Vehicle Training Course Available!
One of the major draws as a community college, in addition to A.A. programs and transfer, is our Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. We see many students looking for a career path that are not necessarily transfer driven. I always tell students who are NOT interested in taking the general education required for a Bachelors degree to look at all of their options. These programs are geared to offer the in-depth and hands-on training needed to secure an entry level position in their desired field.
One of our top CTE programs is our Automotive Technology program. They are constantly bringing in the most current and innovative technology for students to train with. Recently, we secured the NEW Hybrid Vehicle Training Course. It welcomed students last week into a standing room only first day of class!
The excitement by the faculty and students is addicting, “We anticipate a noteworthy semester for this class with special demo vehicles, guest speakers, and excellent training thanks to our new instructor, Marty Supple,” remarked Rex Jaramillo, Auto Tech instructor, and added, “Marty comes to us with a wealth of alternative fuel, electric vehicle, and hybrid vehicle training background and knowledge. We are most fortunate to have him as the lead instructor for this class.”
The course provides a hands-on approach to the world of hybrid electric vehicles. Students will examine existing technologies, conversion processes, testing, assembly, operation, maintenance and safety of hybrid-electric, fuel cell and battery powered electric vehicles.
